Our role as CDM Compliance Consultant is to ensure that all CDM Duty Holders (Principal Designers, Principal Contractors and Clients), give due consideration to the health and safety of those who build the structure and those who will maintain and use the structure once complete.

Training
The Building Safety Group is dedicated to delivering the highest quality health and safety training, specifically designed for the building construction industry. A complete range of health and safety courses is offered at our training centre in Bristol and we are also able to run each of our courses at your own premises or at other venues around the country. Site safety folder
Every site should have a copy of the Site Safety Folder. As well as containing Statutory Documentation which is required to be completed by law, the folder contains model fire plans, induction forms, accident report forms and other important information on Health & Safety matters. Whilst the Site Safety Folder is, as its title implies, a document aimed at the site or Project Manager, many companies also keep a copy at their Head Office. Toolbox Talks
We offer a range of Toolbox Talks covering a wide range of subjects relevant to the construction industry. Our Toolbox Talks last around 10 minutes and can be delivered at your site by one of our safety advisers. Find out more about our Toolbox Talks on our training pages.
Health and safety audits
An audit is designed to give an accurate appraisal of your organisation’s current Health and Safety Practices and assess whether you are meeting your legal duties and maintaining acceptable standards. The cost of this service is based on the time involved, please contact us to discuss your needs and get a quotation.
Incident investigation service
If you would like BSG to carry out an accident or incident investigation on your behalf and prepare a written report based on our investigation and findings, this service is available at a fixed cost of £750.00 plus VAT per incident.
The contents of the report are confidential between you and The Building Safety Group, although a copy may be requested by the HSE. If the HSE do demand a copy of the accident investigation report and we are subsequently requested to provide copies to third parties in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, we will oppose this under Section 4.1 of the Act in order that members are not discouraged from taking advantage of this valuable accident investigation service. Annual office inspections or regional/satellite offices
We will carry out a Health & Safety Inspection of your Regional or Satellite offices on an annual basis. An inspection report will be completed on each occasion and a copy left with you at the time, the same as for a site inspection. Our charge for this service would be £205.00 + VAT. Additional site visits
We aim to visit sites approximately every three weeks which is sufficient in most instances. Should you require more frequent visits, this can be arranged at an additional cost of £225.00 + VAT per visit. (Non BSG member: £ 270 + VAT per visit). Please note that there is an additional charge of £46.00 plus VAT per site visit for sites within the M25 ring. Contact us for more details.

Required by law at every workplace the posters currently cost £16.00 plus carriage and VAT. Contact us to find out more or order your poster/s.
Fire risk assessments
Several of our Safety Advisers have moved to the Building Safety Group after a career in the Fire Service. We are therefore uniquely placed to offer broad and specific advice regarding fire prevention and Risk Assessment. We have been asked on many occasions when working in proximity to schools or colleges to talk, on behalf of members, in order to raise awareness of safety issues resulting from construction works. Our charge for this service is £150.00 + VAT. Contact us for more details.
