NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety in Practice

Here at BSG, we are continually looking for new ways to expand our range of courses and we are pleased to announced that we are now approved by City & Guilds to deliver the new NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety in Practice.

Only launched in May 2011, the course is ideal for those looking to gain professional membership within the Health & Safety industry via a competence based portfolio of evidence, as opposed to an exam based qualification.

We have also recently launched our Machine Woodworking Training course, where delegates can receive training covering Classical Sawing, Planing, Moulding, Shaping and Jointing Machinery. The courses will be delivered in your workplace and are tailored to meet your requirements.

Commenting on his appointment, Guy said “BSG is a well run and successful business, providing a valuable service to construction companies and I am looking forward to helping continue the good work in the future.

I place a high priority on health and safety at Knox and Wells and I am hoping to learn from my experiences as a board member and not only further our own development but also help put something back into the industry.”

Toolbox Talks now available to download

BSG members are now able to download a range of Toolbox Talks from BSG Online Services.

Toolbox talks are short, daily discussions or presentations by supervisors to their employees. They generally last no longer than 15 minutes or so. Often participants gather around the project tool box, hence the name. A toolbox talk is focused on one specific topic and addresses it in simple terms. While it need not be about a safety topic, it is not uncommon for safety to be the topic.

A toolbox talk provides an opportunity for a supervisor to emphasise the importance of a particular issue or procedure, and for employees to ask questions or make serious comments.

Download our Toolbox Talks
Our Toolbox Talks are a useful resource for anyone involved in running a Talk, offering helpful tips and guidance for the presenter with information in bullet point format to help the presenter to deliver give a concise talk.

Members can access and download our Toolbox Talks through the documents area of BSG Online Services. If you have forgotten your log in details, please contact the membership team on 01454 414877.
